As a committee, we look forward every year to seeing the Bards of Birmingham at the Alabama Renaissance Faire. Your kids are truly one of the highlights of the Faire.

Bards in a Box is the mobile troupe and public face of the Bards of Birmingham. They are called "Bards in a Box" because they carry all of their props and costume pieces with them in one light, easily transported box.

The young actors busk at Faires, festivals, neighborhood parties and other gatherings. There are two key performance weapons in their arsenal: a 30-minute MainStage play, and 30-second skits from Shakespeare plays which can be performed on demand in any context. Bards have performed at birthday parties and holiday gatherings as well as major annual events. Most of the time the kids perform for tips, but in tip-free performances they can perform for a flat fee. All proceeds benefit the organization and the kids directly.
